Our Approach

When you're looking for information about childbirth, you want it to be from a credible resource. That's what Happy Birth Way offers: research-based, up-to-date, credible information to help you make empowered decisions about your pregnancy and birth.

If you're counting solely on your caregiver to prepare you for labor, you might not get all the information you need. Many caregivers simply don't have the time to share the depth of information that's available about topics like inducing labor (LINK to All About Birth/How Labor Starts), and the pros and cons of having an epidural. Plus they may have their own preferences that can bias their advice. Birth is inherently unpredictable, so knowing what to expect – and how to respond to the UNexpected – is key to building your birth confidence. Happy Birth Way classes help to build that confidence by providing information so you can create your own personal birth preferences. Classes include a wide range of topics, including:

  • The three stages of labor
  • How partners can support in labor
  • The benefits of a midwife
  • Medical reasons to induce labor
  • How a doula can assist you
  • The downsides of an epidural
  • The benefits of breastfeeding
  • And so much more!

What is a Doula?

A doula is a non-medical labor assistant who physically and emotionally supports a mom and her partner during labor, as depicted in this beautiful montage of Samuel's birth.
